Aurean

Vulpes sapiens, therian, pl. Aureans

Aureans are humanoids native from the North-East area of Colden, but some have also been found on the North coast of Arach. Superficially they resemble furry humans, but with large droopy rabbit-like ears and a long tail. Aureans are relatively new to the xeno-political scene of Isotara, having remained isolated in their villages for millennia. Their natural resilience to cold weather have allowed them to live in areas where most other sapient races would avoid; it is only in the last hundred years or so that contact has been established with aurean tribes.

Aureans are a rare species in the sense that they've been isolated from civilization's development, and as a result they've developed a language far removed from the Common Tongue. Their language, which shares the name of their species, is one of soft intonations and very few hard consonants. The term "aurean" comes from their own tongue and means simply "those of Aurea", their name for the planet on which they live.
